The PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty)

The PCT or Patent Cooperation Treaty is a multilateral treaty managed by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), which today has 157 Contracting States. The Treaty aims to facilitate the protection request for an invention simultaneously in multiple countries by filing a single international patent application with the Receiving Office (RO) of one of the member states, instead of separate national / regional applications with the competent offices of each of them.

Furthermore, it provides a preliminary assessment of the patent's validity: The PCT process includes an international search to evaluate the validity and originality of the invention. This judgment provides applicants with an initial indication of the likelihood of obtaining the patent and helps identify any problems that may arise during the national examination stages.
Ultimately, the PCT judgment contributes to improving the efficiency and quality of the patent obtaining process on a global scale.

This procedure evaluated the 18 claims of the international patent application, approving them all, with the following judgment:
